Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
2 tablespoons mesquite seasoning
1 (8-ounce) package cheese slices
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
Salt
Pepper
Directions
- Mix the ground beef with the mesquite seasoning and shape into eight patties—thinner, but larger, than usual. On top of four of the patties place a layer of cheese, sliced onion, and sliced tomato. Cover with the remaining patties and seal the edges. Season to taste with the salt and pepper. Grill over low heat until done (probably a little longer than usual or about 20 to 25 minutes), turning regularly.
Makes 4 servings.
